That's really strange. When I google, more than 30.000 results say Orisma ichneumon,but mostly "pop-sci" pages. When I searched for Orsima ichneumon, I got only 2.500 results, mostly from scientific pages. So I see that it is very popular mistake :)

It's not that strange - in some cases when there is consonant followed by vowel or vowel followed by vowel, half people are sure to write it other way around :-D

Luckily there are latin names, much easier to be misspeled, like famoust Dybowski's: Gammaracanthuskytodermogammarus loricatobaicalensis :P

He was sent by Russians to Siberia for taking a part in "January uprasing" in 1863. Far from home, in much colder climate... maybe this was some kind of revenge on russian science ;)
