Beautiful shot. Am curious - any HDR processing in this shot? The colors are spectacular and the details in the clouds and mountains is very cool.

Is that a grass growing on the roof?

I just came from a vacation out west in Idaho to Craters of the Moon National Monument and Glacier National Park. Iceland is a land that has always fascinated me with it's contrasts of fire and ice. I made the same comment to a Park Ranger last year at Yellowstone. But a trip to Iceland would be possibly the most dynamic place I could imagine seeing these stark and powerful differences in landscape.

I like how if I Google Earthed this, it would be invisible!

Awesome shot, and grats on the DD! I've been to Iceland twice now, and believe I've been through Saudarkrokur at least once. It's a beautiful country; you're picture really captures that.

This is absolutely fabulous. I love how the focus is the house, but the eye gets drawn across the plain to the mountains in the background. I'd want to just run across those fields and climb those mountains.

Having said that, now I need to find out if the home owner's association will allow a grass roof in my subdivision...
