Currently keeping a little spider I rescued from an arachnophobic librarian (dare you to say that 3 times fast!) and she's happily eating small crickets, but there's snow outside and her kind dwell indoors naturally where they make cobwebs so I'll be keeping this one.
Yup... I'm working on that. Unlucky for me I've just found an article about "Steatodism" - bites caused by Steatoda spiders. I've never suspected that they can give almost the same effect as Lathrodectus (black widows). I should be more carefull with handling theese guys. For many years I had 6 or 7 Steatoda spiders living behind my bed, on the wall
See, that's why I stay away from them (well, actually no, I do for more irrational reasons ). Well, it's also a question of how likely it is to get bitten. Are they particularly aggressive or do they only bite when they feel seriously threatened?
